Use the Harajuku side of your shrine visit as the starting point for food. There is a vegan bistro nearby and a halal option farther along toward Shibuya.

Plan your meal around the place

Vegan Bistro Jangara is the simpler Harajuku pairing. The GYUMON listing uses “Harajuku” in its name but gives a Jinnan address, so allow for a longer walk or transport rather than expecting it at the shrine gate. Choose the shrine exit that fits your next stop, and check the route again if you leave by a different entrance.

Food options to check

1. Vegan Bistro Jangara

Vegan restaurant — operator listing. Use the upstairs Vegan Bistro, not an assumption about the entire Jangara group. The operator says it does not take reservations.

2F, 1-13-21 Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo. Check the route from Meiji Jingu Shrine. Operator information.

2. GYUMON Tokyo Harajuku

Halal ramen and gyukatsu — operator listing. Despite the branch name, its published address is in Jinnan, toward Shibuya. Treat it as a longer walk or a separate stop.

10F, 1-20-8 Jinnan, Shibuya, Tokyo. Check the route from Meiji Jingu Shrine. Operator information.

Before you go

Vegan and halal are separate questions. Ask about the exact dish, alcohol-based seasonings, stock and shared equipment where relevant. These notes summarize published information checked on 27 October 2026; they are not an on-site inspection or a certification issued by Salam Tokyo. Menus, hours and access can change.

Route links open Google Maps so you can compare the current journey. We do not publish guessed walking times. A wider-area alternative is identified in the planning notes.
