Asking about alcohol in food: compare explicit restaurant statements

Nefertiti, Marugoto and THE GRAND GINZA show why policy wording matters.

Nefertiti, Marugoto and THE GRAND GINZA show why policy wording matters.

Read the precise claim

Nefertiti says its dishes use neither alcohol nor pork-derived ingredients. Marugoto describes alcohol-free ingredients alongside its vegan food policy. THE GRAND GINZA instead explains dietary accommodations and limitations, including no halal certification and shared equipment.

Do not turn those different statements into the same blanket label. An ingredient commitment is useful evidence, but it is not automatically a certificate or a description of every handling process.

Ask about the complete preparation

Name the dish and explain your requirement concerning seasonings, sauces and preparation. If you require certification or particular equipment arrangements, ask for those separately. Obtain the restaurant's answer before confirming a group meal and share any limitations with the diners.

This guide does not make a religious ruling about cooking methods or alcohol. It helps you obtain concrete information for your own choice. Where the operator has not substantiated a detail, leave it unconfirmed rather than assuming that a vegan label or an attractive menu photograph answers the question.
